Maria Florencia Attademo-Hirt, an Argentine and Italian citizen, is the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB, iadb.org) General Manager for the Southern Cone Country Department since June 2021, and the Country Representative (Country Manager) in Chile since April 2021. She oversees the IDB Group operations and initiatives in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. As Country Representative, her responsibilities encompass the IDB Group projects and activities in Chile, including country dialogue, public sector loans and grants, private sector financing, knowledge products, and relationship and collaboration with civil society and academia. Before joining the IDB Group, Florencia practiced law in Buenos Aires and Chicago. She holds a J.D. from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, in Argentina, and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School, was a Fulbright Scholar, and is admitted to the Buenos Aires and New York bars. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and has knowledge of Danish, German and French.
