Did you know?

Between 18 to 23 March more than 200 criminal illegal migrants were arrested by ICE in Boston, Massachusetts. Those arrested include those previously deported, fentanyl traffickers, child rape convicts and murderers. Boston prides itself on being a sanctuary city, which means it restricts local cooperation with federal immigration authorities even if these individuals have significant criminal convictions or charges. Cities that do not comply with federal immigration laws are at risk of losing federal funding. President Trump signed an EO in February which takes aim at sanctuary cities. The order directs federal departments and agencies to identify any federal programs which provide financial benefits to illegal immigrants. These individuals will be barred from public programs and the sanctuary cities will lose funding which supports these individuals. On 1 March, Congress introduced the “No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities” Act which will force cities and states to choose between facilitating mass deportations or risk losing funding which benefits illegal immigrants.
